Since the students are limited verbally pictures are their access to communication. If I am able to make them books of pictures and they could use those to speak. I would make multiple pictures representing items and words with velcro on the back. They would velcro what they want on a velcro strip and hand it to the person they want speak with. For example, they may build the sentence " I need the bathroom" or " I want a snack". Additionally, they could learn the names/ to label more items in their environment. The hope is that we ultimately make them a system to communicate.
