The materials will be useful in teaching my students how to control their emotions and understand other people’s perspectives. this will be done through art expression, role playing, and through interactive games. Using art is a key component to the counseling process. Being interactive is a key component as well role playing puppets and other manipulates. I hope by having these materials students will be able to fully engage in the counseling process, and have fun! It will also shake them up and get them excited to work in social skills groups. They will be using these materials in conjunction with group lessons I will be doing. The various lessons include Self-Control, Teamwork/Solving Problems, How we communicate, Personal Space, and Zones of Regulation. Grade Level groups will meet twice a month.
