It's no secret that students like to move. Flexible seating is a way to allow students to move while engaging in learning. By reducing sedentary periods of time in the classroom, I plan to use yoga balls, bar stools, and tall tables for students to explore their learning style in an active setting. Pairing up and working in small groups while using flexible seating allows for sharper focus and processing. This sensory way of sitting creates simulation for students with ADD, ADHD, learning disabilities, and students with communication deficiencies. Not only does flexible seating look fun, it is FUN! Students stress levels go down and they enjoy learning!
