Some of the therapy driven material will provide sensory input to help calm students to focus in class whether it's visually or tacitly. Providing students with a variety of sensory experiences such as weighted pencils, chew sticks, fidgets, chair bands, etc. will allow students to attend to classroom tasks. Other material included helps students improve their visual perception skills and fine motor skills for carryover with their writing and academic skills. Students with special needs thrive on movement and sensory experiences to increase the ability to focus and participate in classroom activities. Many of the material of interest will be able to incorporate into the student's therapy sessions to improve their therapy goals which may include writing, self-care tasks, and participation with classroom tasks. Activities frequently involve obstacle courses involving multi-step approach which incorporates a variety of visual and fine motor skills.
