Students will learn the basics from TOON BOOKS and published Graphic Novels for their reading level in order to create themselves as a comic character in a story! The set includes books that were chosen to cover a wide range of reading levels and varied interests to spark the students' imagination to create their comic. Colored pencils and a crisp black marker outline will help to transform their drawing into the finished comic! Students will use the materials as a spring board into their own cartoon story creation. Students will turn themselves into the main character for a comic strip in which they choose what they will make or do as a a super hero! Since all special needs students are included into their peer grade levels, they will also be working on the same comic project! These materials will help make a difference in their artistic learning since we usually do not use colored pencils for students below 2nd grade due to budgetary concerns. This purchase will help support my students in the lower grades to be successful in drawing a comic while using appropriate materials for the project.
