This project would bring books to my LatinX students that shows them characters like themselves and would allow them to join a book club that enhances their representation and allow them to feel like they matter in our community. It would also allow my non-LatinX students to understand what happens in other countries and the reality families face while immigrating to the states. With this book club I, as a LatinX educator, can contribute to my students learning to have them know they are seen and cared for by a teacher that is willing to share the ugly truth through honest books.

About my class
