This project will help the classroom get the lighting needed to focus on instruction instead of the brightness of the room. It is often hard to see the smart board at the front of the room when the fluorescent lights are on but when they are off, it becomes too dark to often see the work they are completely especially on cloudy days when they sun ins't shining in the classroom. These light covers will offer the dimness needed to see the board but to also see their notebooks. The traditional fluorescent lighting in classrooms may contribute to headaches, migraines, eye strain, and difficulty sleeping. I have also requested lamps to help add to the reduced fluorescent lighting when needed. The shelving unit and storage bins I am requesting will help clear the space from a bulky table with things piled up on it. It will offer compartments to help keep classroom materials organized. The shelving unit will also take up less space, making room for hopefully one of our new lamps that is requested.
