These materials are used to enhance the reading of Edgar Allen Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart. It will become a hands-on lesson by turning it into an escape room type activity for the students to reenact the crime scene and determine whether the main character is guilty by reason of insanity or premeditated murder. Students often learn best by becoming inolved and getting hands-on with the learning materials. This lesson allows the reading to become hands-on, active, and thought provoking, not just sitting in front of paper and reading the words. It allows for movement, imagination, critical thinking, and group involvement. These are all ways for students to prepare for active learning and a better tomorrow.
