Search has shown that one of the most effective teaching strategies is project based learning. Teaching in a career technical center affords me the opportunity to create a "real world" experience for my students. These experiences bring to life the concepts and principles of marketing, advertising and business ownership . When students are able to connect a concept to a task performed, the learning is deeper and more meaningful. We operate a retail store as our main project for our Entrepreneurship Program. It affords the students the opportunity to engage in "real world" tasks, responsibilities and duties of starting and operating a business. Theory to practice has proven to enhance their understanding of what is takes to start and operate a business. We are in dire need of resources... to set up our retail store, the Snack Shack. We have been operating for two months now, but do not have funds to purchase basic retail store supplies such, display racks for our products. Your support would make that possible, and move us one step closer to the "look and feel" of a retail business. Thanking you in advance for time spent considering our request.
