The debate club is a group of inquisitive young people with a consistent desire to analyze their thinking and improve their understandings of complex topics. Recording debate will allow students to focus on specific segments of cases and revisit parts of exchanges that they find compelling. In the day to day classroom, the microphones will help students create projects using voice recordings. Particularly with ninth graders and special needs students, presenting can be a daunting prospect. Prerecording presentations will offer students a transition into public speaking. Finally, the seniors have been podcasting, but the computer microphones leave a bit to be desired. The microphones will certainly add to these students' motivation, and will allow them to document one of the most important years of their lives.
