Many of our instruments are hand-me-downs and on their last leg. Not only that but at the rate, the percussion program has been growing we have quickly run out of enough instruments and equipment for everyone to participate at the same time, leaving some standing around and watching instead of participating and progressing as musicians. Band/music is for everyone, many of our students are from low-income families and cannot purchase their own equipment and I never want money to be a factor in whether or not a student can be in a band. With these new practice pads, each student will be able to participate at the same rate, furthering their learning as a whole.

About my class
