In my classroom, I try to make history hands-on for all my students. I have many artifacts that I show my students but I feel that I can feature the items in a better way If I have a document camera. By having a document camera in my room, I will be able to feature student work more frequently than I do now. If a student has done an extraordinary job on a class assignment, I will be able to show off the their success immediately to the class. Also, I enjoy pulling current events from newspaper to add to my lessons. A document camera is a great way to add in these last minute articles to make my lessons topical. And lastly, the document camera would be amazing to illustrate to the students how to annotate passages to be active readers.
