As a teacher, having these books and supplies will help the students in my class accomplish their assignments. The school district purchases a set of books per grade level and most of the time they worn and tattered. During the course of school, parents are also asked to purchase books for their child because of the shortage of supplies and by our community being low income based, the books are rarely purchased for individual usage. Also, being in the special education department, my resource students are given the accommodations where most of test and assignments are read aloud. Having the audio will give them a chance to hear it and follow along while it is read out loud therefore increasing vocabulary usage and meaning. Also a good portion of the students families cannot afford basic school supplies for their children. Things such as headphones, pens, pencils, and even paper are of a great necessity. . Having these items on hand would enhance the student's learning by giving them a peace of mind knowing that they don't have to stress daily about not having the money to purchase supplies.
