Our school is very STEM-focused. An after-school choir will give them the opportunity to create music and explore the arts. When singing in a choir, it is essential to have risers for the students to stand on in order to learn efficiently. It is similar to having desks in a classroom. Students can see the director better, and can be more engaged in the lesson. We are also asking for reusable water bottles, which will help keep the singers well hydrated while also staying environmentally conscious. Extra-curricular activities like choir help to keep students out of trouble on the streets. Music enhances brain development and singing as part of a choir can give students a sense of belonging. By getting students involved in choir, we are hoping to spark a life-long love of music in the hearts of children. With your support, we can help the school go from STEM to STEAM. Arts are just as important as any other subject. Never let them be phased out.
