I chose various supplies that will be used for working with children in small groups or individually. I want to create a safe, comfortable space to set us up for success in solving problems. Do you remember having to sit still in hard wooden chairs when you were in school? Most students still do and it is very challenging for many. Having the wobbly chairs in my office will allow students the movement they need so they can focus on task at hand. The sensory materials will help calm and soothe children so that their brains relax and can refocus on their learning. It can also be used to facilitate communication between myself and the students. The puppets help children find their voice when it's maybe too scary to use their own. It's amazing how puppets can provide courage.
