As we know, sometimes in the urban demographic, children's parents can work hard to provide them with the things they need. These parents instruct the children with those things and some children forget to use them or do not properly apply them. The Penguin Pride Pouches are to help with hygiene, eliminate bullying, and help young ladies who are transitioning physically into womanhood. As a mother and member of the staff and community here, I know how we can sometimes overlook small things in the morning. This is to support one of the school missions of looking professional at school.
When I was in school, students had showers and rooms like home economics where perhaps a washer and dryer were available. I believe that when we can help serve students in other aspects of their lives we build tighter bonds. This project is dear to me because I have seen children come to school telling me they have six cavities, some covering their noses because the person in front of them in line suffers from poor hygiene, or the young lady who has her period and does not know how to apply her sanitary napkin. This project is to align home care or lack thereof with pride in their own appearances. Our school helps where it can, but I feel like this project can be so much greater with the help of others.
