I work in a school district with a high poverty rate. My primary building is at a middle school. Boys and girls between the ages of 11-15 years old are not the most motivated to come to speech therapy. Giving my students the ability to do their speech therapy on an iPad can help to improve success with both academics and peer interactions, by increasing motivation and providing visual support. Some of these students don't have access to computers or internet at home. There are many apps that can be utilized to help these students achieve their goals (i.e., vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, articulation, fluency, etc.)
