Traditional learning methods often don't work for students with exceptionalities and physical disabilities. A lack of resources often results in them being more behind academically than their peers. Students with special needs require extra assistance to facilitate their development and their learning. My nonverbal students can use the iPad to talk and answer questions. Using iPads in class not only encourages individual learning, but using their fingers to directly write on the screen and make selections, improves their fine motor skills. With assistive technology, special needs students can take control of their work instead of having someone else speak and write for them.
