My students are about to begin exploring alternative energy sources and looking at ways we can use different energy sources to help save our planet. They are very aware of climate change and current issues facing the planet but they all seem to feel that making a switch is too "difficult." These materials will allow them to understand harnessing natural resources is not as difficult as it sounds! By building windmills that power lifts and robots that run on solar energy, we can make natural power options something they can grasp tangibly on the micro level. Once they understand how natural energy resources work, it's much easier to talk about moving from the micro to the macro level and how we need to restructure our infrastructure to support clean energy alternatives.
