I am seeking this technology project to aide my classroom in moving to the future. I challenge my under-priveleged students to get the same education and preparation for college as anyone else. I often see other classes getting technology and wonder "Why not my students?" I plan to give my students the appropriate footing to learn Math, Engineering and Coding, which I teach. I want my STEAM Magnet Students to use augmented reality, learn basic app development, and build models. Students will learn to use virtual reality, be expose to digital coding curriculums, and Math typing softwares to prepare them for college and careers. I want them to be able to no longer wonder, "How does plumbing work?" "How do Engines work" I want them to be able to pull up models. I want them to record movies of exponential growth, or use the measure tools to determine the areas for constructing.
My end goal is to bring a futuristic world to my eager students wishing to delve into a 21-st century STEM-centered way of learning. I see this technology as a blank canvas for my students to illustrate. Imagine their shock and amazement when they see Virtual reality for the first time. Imagine their inspiration when they develop their first app, or manipulate a model engine on their screen. I know my students are the future leaders of America if, like me, someone pays it forward!
