Our students could use a variety of seating options in the classroom. Flexible seating would offer the students the ability to get movement while they are learning and collaborating or have a calm and relaxing space to work and study. Not all students work best sitting in a chair and remaining motionless. My goal as a teacher is to provide a safe, caring, and flexible academic environment. We have to meet students where they are in order to help them grow, physically; emotionally; socially; and academically. Providing flexible seating will help these students meet their physical, emotional, social and academic needs while also encouraging them to support and mentor their peers.
