Recently, our classroom size has increased to 22 students. With this change, I noticed how hard it was for students to navigate through the classroom with the extra chairs and desks. I also noticed that many of my students were having difficulty sitting in their normal seats, as many wanted to move and bounce around. I decided that the best thing for my students was to transition to open seating. By removing the traditional chairs from the classroom, students are able to select alternative seating. My only challenge is that I do not currently have enough alternative seating to accommodate all of my students. With the addition of bouncy balls, floor cushions, and wobble seats, I will be able to ensure all of my students have the seating they need in order to be academically successful.
