Kindergarten is often a student's first formal experience with school. For that reason, it holds a very special, important place in the hearts and minds of young learners. The connections and learning that are happening in a kindergarten classroom are truly magical. My students love nothing more than playing games, reading stories and play acting together. And, if you have ever spent time in a kindergarten classroom then you know how important THE RUG is. With 27 students in our small classroom, space is at a premium. We spend a large amount of time learning together on our classroom rug. We start our day singing and sharing special news, we read stories together, track the weather and solve math equations. Needless to say, this rug provides the setting for some pretty amazing learning opportunities. I am seeking a large, colorful classroom rug that has a spot for each student in our class to have their very own home. Thank you for considering this very important project. It will make a difference in our everyday lives.
