In a technology-advanced and ever-changing world, incorporating technology into the preschool classroom proves to be a powerful tool for helping children develop foundational skills in a number of important subjects. Technology can enhance cognitive and social learning when it supports play, creativity, exploration, pretend and active play and outdoor activities. During the preschool years, young children are developing a sense of initiative and creativity. My students are curious about the world around them and about learning. Each day in our classroom they are exploring their ability to create and communicate using a variety of media crayons, markers, paints and other art materials, blocks, dramatic play materials and through creative movement, singing, dancing, and using their bodies to represent ideas and experiences. Providing my students with these tablets will provide them with one more outlet for them to demonstrate their creativity and learning. This project will begin them at an early age into the 21st century skills.
