In the introductory visual arts course at the high school level, students experience a broad range of hands-on materials, techniques, and concepts. Drawing marshmallows with charcoal and painting landscapes in watercolor fosters positive student experiences and engagement in the visual arts that last a lifetime. Some of the materials most important to creating a meaningful and memorable experience, are not universally accessible in a remote learning environment. I want every one of my first year, art students to have access to the essentials regardless of economic status. With the support of the community, I hope to ensure all my first year art students have a rewarding experience!

About my class
