Because calculators make possible mathematical exploration, experimentation, and enhancement of learning mathematical concepts, it is recommended that appropriate calculators be made available for use by students at every grade level. For instance, students want to calculate the account balance after 15 years with 3% of interest compounded quarterly. It will take very long to compute the total amount without using the calculators. Calculators allow students and teachers to spend more time developing mathematical understanding, reasoning, number sense, and applications instead of learning and performing tedious paper-and-pencil arithmetic and algebraic algorithms.
