December has been designated as Hour of Code month at Overton. It has become one of our favorite units! We are trying to integrate more coding experiences throughout the year with coding mice, coding games, websites. Integrating coding robots in our current coding units will be an engaging and fun new experience for our students! I have plans to use the coding robots to code paths on maps, integrating math, science, and social studies. I would love to use them for practicing multiplication strategies and also for measuring geometric shapes. There are many PBL lessons that I can modify to have students outfit the coding robots with attachments for different tasks. Many of the activities can be easily modified to meet multiple grade-level standards for the variety of grade levels I teach.
