Many of my students have not traveled more than 20 miles away from home; no trips to beaches, mountains, amusement parks, etc. We do not even have a local public swimming pool or park. Clearly, the life experiences of my students are limited. These subscriptions will allow me to open the world to my students. I will use the information in these magazines to help my students understand that the world around them is much larger than they currently think. I will help them see that they are part of a global society, and that they each have an individual place in it.
