This market will teach prekindergarten students about the importance of money, goods and how this exchange takes place. Students will practice going to the market to buy food, this includes the exchange of money for a good. Learning that goods and services are things that we need to purchase is a valuable life lesson. Students need to understand that you can't just go to the store for food, you have to pay for it. It is that exchange that drives this unit of learning. The practice will be a valuable lesson learned during play. Play is a very powerful teacher.
