These supplies will support art/literature integrated teaching and learning in a grade 1 setting, where students will incorporate what they have learned in art history units in a unique way. They will write short statements about a favorite artist and apply the style of said artist to a drawing, by the student, of a public park that is adjacent to the school property. In recent years the reputation of the urban park has been plagued with negative public reviews. As this park is a major part of the students' community, this book will help others to the "see" it differently.
