In ELA, it is important to have the materials to read and write. This project includes two areas of focus: writing and reading. To effectively express themselves in written words students need to have notebooks and writing utensils. Using a variety of writing prompts, students will take time each day to build on their writing skills. They will use the tools this project funds to peer edit and hone their writing skills. The second portion of the project are literature workbooks. These custom workbooks are specific to each unit and the spiral binding will make it easier to navigate. Standards addressed in this project include: Language Arts areas including grammar, and writing. Reading R.F. 4 - Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. I have included binding supplies to switch out with each reading unit. This will help create connections/learning for visual, auditory, and kinetic learners as we complete the workbook activities that go along with our literature for each unit. Writing - 4.1 - composition notebooks and pencils will allow them to practice their narrative, persuasive, and other writing projects. Speaking and Listening-SL 4.3 & SL 4.4- Presentations for sharing opinion and information about what they have learned.
