As fifth grade students, they now have block scheduling. With this new schedule comes the job of carrying books to each block, their lunches, their pencil cases, and pretty soon-- their Chromebooks. We have been afforded the amazing opportunity for 1:1 Chromebook use, but the students are not allowed to carry a backpack from class to class unless it is clear. This is a district rule implemented for the safety of the school, students, and staff. Myself and two other teachers on my team have made the same exact project in hopes of getting enough funding to purchase 90 backpacks for the entire fifth grade. Although some parents will purchase a bag on their own, the majority will not. Please help us provide these clear bags to our students as it will ease transitioning, help students not forget books, and most importantly, protect their 1:1 devices.
