My students would significantly benefit from the purchase of a new carpet. Our classroom was recently updated with all tile flooring, so right now, it will be a little uncomfortable for my students to sit on the hard floor, during instructional time. My students love to sit on "the carpet" and learn throughout the day. We use to utilize our carpet for read aloud time, independent reading and even during our morning and afternoon classroom meetings. A brand new classroom carpet will allow my students to continue learning in an engaging format! Having everyone on the carpet will also allow us to share our thoughts and ideas with one another and allow students to work collaboratively on their assignments.
