While I was going through boxes in my home, I stumbled across a stack of papers. They were directed drawings from my days in kindergarten! I can recall the excitement of following along with my teacher to create drawings of CVC words--not to mention getting to use a permanent marker! This activity was a weekly ingredient of life in kindergarten and it made such an impression because it was embedded into the routine--something little ones strive thrive on. With this document camera, my students will be able to engage in directed drawings to build connections to emergent literacy. Moreover, the use of a document camera provides ample opportunities to integrate technology into our classroom. My goal is to provide engaging experiences in my kindergarten classroom to encourage an early love of learning among my students.
