Starting my second year as a teacher, I want to give my students a sense of belonging. I have many students that come to class without paper or pencils and seem detached from the classroom and learning. This project will give my students their own notebook and plenty of options to write with so they feel apart of the class and they know they have the basic tools to be successful. These supplies will allow all of my students to be more engaged in the learning, while having a central place to keep their class notes and project materials. This project will also allow me to take my students learning to the next level as we will be able to do more project based assignments. I want to give students the ability to use their strengths and have choices in how they complete assignments. I am asking for tools like markers, poster board, construction paper, scissors and other supplies to help build confidence and resilience in my students as they use their creative passions to create memories and take ownership of their learning. Being able to give my students these supplies will allow me to broaden their learning by having them bring the content to life by using anchor charts and sketch notes where students use creativity to show me what they know. I can't wait to see what they create!
