As a third grade teacher, I am truly GROWING READERS each day! We emphasize reading in our classroom daily, and I strive to make it a peaceful and exciting part of our schedule. As a new teacher to the homeroom setting, I inherited a class set of books that was very small. I am asking Donors Choose to help build my classroom library. I want to teach my students to not only find success in reading, but to find their love of it. Jim Rohn said that "Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary." I want my students to rise above the ordinary. We have 20 students reading on a variety levels, from beginning reading to advanced elementary reading. I want each child to have a 'just right' book to read each day. I would like to set up my classroom to allow my students to quickly and easily choose a book to read on their level that will build their confidence.
