Have you ever tried to succeed in doing something without the appropriate tools? Well, that is the case of most of my students. They are challenged not only with learning literacy, and the English language simultaneously, but also with very limited economic resources to access the reading and language resources to reach their educational goals. As it is known, English language learning students heavily rely on visuals and texts at their own reading levels to learn to read with comprehension, gaining new vocabulary, and language structures. For these reasons, is that these reading libraries would make a world of a difference in my students' literacy and language learning process.
Having plenty of leveled-picture texts about different subjects will afford my students limitless opportunities to interact both with literacy and language. For example, they could use these books to read in the classroom during their independent reading time. Another instance they could use these texts is during guided reading time when they are taught the reading skills they need. Additionally, they could borrow these books to practice reading at home. In other words, these books will provide these young minds with the necessary practice opportunities to improve their reading as well as their language and succeed in school.
In conclusion, by investing in these leveled reading libraries, you would make the appropriate reading and language learning resources available to these students. Therefore, you will be contributing to making education accessible to the future of this world, our kids.
