My Marine Science students have been (im)patiently waiting for our unit on Marine Aquariums. My students have recently covered all the information we need to finish setting up our saltwater aquariums. In our classroom, we have two donated tanks: a 30 gallon and a 90 gallon. The 90 gallon aquarium has been a major project that I have been piecing together for the last year. The final piece of the puzzle is the heaters to keep the water at the perfect temperature for our future resident fish! Our aquariums will showcase examples of organisms that my students will discuss in the next semester. In our upcoming units, students will learn about marine fish and invertebrates like shrimp, sea stars, and clownfish. My students have already come a long way to get our aquariums up-and-running. This project will help us wrap up our last key elements of our large aquarium.
