This rug will allow me to provide my students a comfortable space to meet all together! I will use the space to open and close lessons with sharing and discussion circles. Having a space to gather comfortably allows students to feel included in their classroom community, by having greeting and ending routines. Having a comfortable space to discuss allows students to construct knowledge together through discussions with partners, small groups, and as a whole class! Having students discuss and construct knowledge together allows them to feel that are taking an active role in their learning! Students who can explain their thinking and explain their learning have a deeper understanding And will remember their learning for longer.
