I had my students vote on what they wanted to get, and this was what they wanted. I'm hopeful that the flexible seating will help my students who do need a little something extra to stay engaged. I also think that our classroom environment will be more welcoming to those who struggle coming to school. I wanted the students to feel like they had control over something in their life. This is something that they are not only able to control, but they are also able to work with their classmates to make our classroom a better place. The students need to feel responsible for something, and this seating will give them responsibility in many aspects because they have to learn to be accountable for their actions. They are excited and want this so bad, but it's expensive! Something that I realized as we were looking into this, was how they thought of money and how much they knew about things being too expensive. It was an eye-opener for me and made me want this for them even more.
