These books will be used for read-alouds during virtual live instruction. They will expose students to diverse books that will teach them about others and will help promote respect and empathy for all types of people. Every student deserves to see themselves in the books they are exposed to. Books have the ability to empower students while simultaneously enlightening other students of the truths about lives they do not live. It is my hope that, by incorporating these books into my instruction, the enlightenment students experience will spur compassion, understanding, and (ultimately) change.
