By providing each of my students with a single sketchbook/drawing pad, they will have a resource they can return to again and again to show and tell whatever story they desire. Students will both draw and write in these pads. Help these kids tell their stories in words and pictures. Sometimes the picture may come first and written exposition after. On other occasions students may feel like putting their ideas and stories down as words first. Either way, this ongoing exercise will help build both their literacy and story telling skills as well as their artistic visual skills. Thanks!
