Because of all of their special needs, my students often have a hard time managing and expressing their emotions. The books and hands-on materials in this project will be used to help our students learn to recognize their feelings, give them the vocabulary to express these feelings, and teach them how to manage those feelings. Like all preschoolers, my students love to be read to and learn a lot from all that they hear and see in books. The book set will help them begin to recognize a variety of emotions and help teach them the vocabulary of these emotions. As hands-on learners, the Flower Feelings and Sorting Boxes will provide the children with another mode of learning about their feelings and allow them some independence in doing so.
