I want to create a reading space for my students that is a clean and safe place for them to discover the magic of reading while connecting with their peers. This couch would be a literacy haven. Students could work in small groups to share their reading. It could be an alternative workplace for kids that need one. I could wipe it down with disinfectant on a daily basis to prevent the spread of illness. We have never had a place in the classroom that has been entirely designated a "lice free" healthy reading space. Bean Bag chairs have to be tossed out or quarantined each time there is an "outbreak". This couch can be a permanent safe literacy space. It would mean the world to my students and their growth as readers.
