As an institution, our school community is effectively working to close the achievement gap. The district free and reduced-price lunch rate is approximately 70%, while our school is at over 91%. Despite financial inequity, last year our school surpassed both the district and state standardized test scores with an average of 94% attendance. In order to continue progressing, my curriculum requires the integration of technology and 21st-century skills. Before transitioning to a career in education, I was a consultant for one of the "Big Four," and want nothing more than to teach students how to apply mathematics in practical ways. To effectively incorporate economic and fiscal policies into lessons, we require technology. I would love to teach students career skills such as Microsoft Excel and utilizing economic data to support opinions. My students are fully capable of becoming world leaders, but they need to be provided with the equal opportunity to do so. Please join the movement to change the landscape of our country through providing equitable education. Every student should have access to equal resources and high-quality education. While high-income schools have Chromebooks for every student, our school has one lab of desktops that are competitive to use, if they are working. Your generosity is making a direct impact on our Nation's future.
