For the first time at our school, we are going to have a full-time Reading Intervention teacher to help our struggling readers! Our school was able to get funding to pay for the Intervention Teacher, but we do not have a fully-stocked classroom yet. There are many things the classroom needs, including some basic furniture to help instruction go more smoothly. The heart of Reading Intervention is working with small groups of students, which is most easily done while sitting around a horseshoe table. Additionally, managing upwards of sixty students will be done more efficiently through having mailboxes in which each student can store their differentiated personal reading materials. When students come in for instruction, they will be able to easily grab their own personal flashcards and other reading materials from an easily accessible mailbox.
