Integrating drumming into our special education classroom for students with ADHD and other cognitive disorders will be a beneficial way for us to connect with our students on a level that will help improve communication, collaboration and increase cognition and attention within the classroom. With the various delays and struggles that our kids face in school with staying focused and on task, these drums will help us communicate with them in a new way and help them celebrate each other. The Djembe drums for them can make a huge difference in the learning and the social experiences they will experience. By incorporating the drums into our daily instruction it will help make the different transitions from activity to activity run smoother as well as give the students a sense of responsibility. They will be able to focus their energy on the lesson to know when they will be able to use the drum. Thank you for your support!
