We currently have a round rug in our class where 21 Kindergartners sit to learn, listen to stories, and sing songs. It can get crowded! While I love gathering the class to meet at the carpet, our current rug sometimes has us feeling and looking like sardines! Five-year-old children have a hard time figuring out what personal space is, and they often sit very, very close to their neighbor. This can cause problems with focus and attention because they are tempted to touch and talk to friends. This colorful rug from Flagship Carpets would be perfect because it would give my students the space they need to focus and learn! It also has colors in a grid pattern that coordinate with my tables which will help them know where to sit and be ready to learn quickly.
