Behavior is a form of communication. These students are trying to communicate with us- I don't feel safe, I need a break, I am sad, etc. My students need these various tools to learn in unconventional ways about their emotions and how to regulate them. As we are able to regulate our emotions, we can begin to process and heal from our traumas. As we process our traumas, we can begin to be present in the moment- to gain friendships, to learn academics, etc. I am a school social worker and my project is to allow students the safe space to feel and grow.

About my class
