We are starting narrative reading through the use of short stories. Students silent read every day and flexible seating would help them stay focused. Read alouds are a must in our classroom, so a rug to sit on would be amazing! We also have writers’ workshop. Students will benefit for fidgets while listening to the teacher model how to write in their notebooks. Students then go off and write on their own which would utilize the flexible seating. My other students are in a Resource Room that helps with goals and working on assignments and topics from other classes. Students would benefit from flexible seating while working independently on work. Students can stay focused while learning through the use of fidgets.
